They also brought back the whole attunement thing from early WoW, where you had to grind a lot just to be able to even enter the raid instance. Also, you didn't get all the ability points etc through leveling. At level cap you could still earn more but it was time-gated. Someone estimated that it would've taken about 10 months of doing dailies to get those last points.

I believe that was the general consensus. The raid content was challenging and well designed but it was gated. To get through that gate required a lot of grinding. While many had expected that, I doubt they were expecting to have to grind *that* much. Carbine had talked a lot about making the game challenging, and once again people were feeling that they had to remind a developer that grinding isn't challenging, it's just tedious.
