“-That there’s no meaningful difference between a real and a virtual world. It’s pointless to ask someone who they really are. All you can do is accept and believe in them. Because whoever they are in your mind is their true identity.” - Kirito, Sword Art Online
"Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow'.” – Mary Anne Radmacher

You're underestimating humans
Most humans like mystery, no internet brings back that mystery where you don't have all the answers at the snap of a keyboard key. People will freak out at first but then will do soul searching and think about what really means to be human.
There is more to life than the Internet.

Welp, people had to trade their music collections with USB sticks again, like we all did when the internet was slow (one person buys a cd, copies it and shares it with others in school or friend)
btw. ShindanMaker said that I'll be a rockstar 1 year after the internet got shut down :D
well, I entered my firstname, now I'm scared of myself, becaues I would really do that:

"The defense of individual rights has reached such extremes as to make society as a whole defenseless against certain individuals. It is time,... to defend not so much human rights as human obligations." - Solzhenitsyn, Harvard University speech.
"The world is just another word for the things you value around you, right? That's something I've had since I was born. If you tell me to rule such a world, I already rule it." - Tohsaka Rin.
