okay so i watched full metal alchemist a long time ago. enjoyed that. then recently heard a new series was out: FMA brotherhood.

i watched until episode 14. got bored lost interest. is it worth continuing? looks just like the original FMA but with few edited dialogue and events different from the original.

... so ya, is it worth continuing?

yes, theres so much more added. I also watched FMA a long time ago. It is well worth it, starts off slow because of the same story, but as you progress into the anime there was so much more added.

Considering Brotherhood actually follows the canon story of the original manga, yes it is worth it. I couldn't stand the original anime. I was living in Japan currently at the time and while plenty of people loved it, there were actual movements of people who shunned all releases of the DVDs and promotional material for it.

If you want a canon story then FMA Brotherhood is the way to go. However, some of those really touching and emotional moments are lost. In some cases you don't have enough time to care about the characters because it is so jam packed into one. It is a lot worse for those who watched the original and loved it because of this factor. I loved the original and just because it wasn't the same as the the manga doesn't make it a bad story. Keep in mind the producers made the original Anime when the manga was not far enough along in the story so they developed their own. So yes Brotherhood is closest to the Manga plot, but the original will always be my favorite.
