Are you a pessimist or an optimist?

Would you say people agree with you on that?

How long have you been such a type of person?

I can be both. Though most people would probably say I'm pessimist, I'd think.

All my friends think I'm a pessimist, but I just like to think of myself as a realist.

It's just unfortunate that the reality of things is often depressing.

Personally I believe I'm equally both, people would say a little of both or realist though. Haven't really changed much, been this way since childhood.

I used to be the biggest optimist but then I realized how horrible this world is and now I am a huge pessimist .

I agree with u there gunner... been a pessimist since the age of like 12... its almost like a requirement for people to be ready for the not-so-pretty things in life...

As others have said, you can be a realist which to me is the true way people should be. Its silly to think everything is "happy go-lucky rainbows and sherbert!" Yet at the same time, no one wants to listen to a "why even bother, glass half-empty" angsty teen.

Realists are able to see things for what they are and make the best of said situation while still understanding why the negative affect themselves and others.

in the absence of information to sway my opinion, pessimist. If you expect the worst you won't be disappointed.

That said i can't think of a time where there wasn't information to sway me towards one or the other.

And I've been that way since roughly middle school, before that i think i was an optimist, sorta.

I dunno if people would agree or disagree, my friends would describe me as sarcastic before either of those though.

I know this isn't an option, but I consider myself to be a realist--the glass is both half-full and half-empty. People also agree that I am realistic (and perhaps too honest at times).
I have been a realistic person for as long as I can remember.

Facts about forum...
Someone will correct you over a trivial grammatical error,and it's usually because they're not intelligent enough to actually come up with a smart argument.
All the class are overpowered except the one you using.

Hmmm, I couldn't say, I usually like to look at things from both sides, up, down and sideways; although it usually pulls my mind madly around in all those directions too :ouch:
