It's more like symphonic metal, but I just love this singer :dreaming:

Iron Maiden is too awesome for words. you have to listen in awe and inspiration.

never heard too much of 'Maiden, but what I heard was very nice indeed.
Tho they are more along the lines of hard-rock, to me, anyways.
(doesn't make em less good, mind you)

Also: I heard you say "Black mages anyone?"
If you like the BM, maybe you can appreciate Demetori as well (if you don't know em yet.
A metal band that covers their own style Touhou tracks. Some very nice pieces there.

Death Metal and Black Metal is what I usually listen to. One of my favorite bands is Taake:

I also like the more raw and primitive style, such as Urgehal:

I often listen to more atmospheric stuff, like Skagos for example:

As far as Death Metal is concerned, I prefer the 90's style, usually Swedish.

Or it's the Darkened/Blackened style.

I gotta say I always appreciate some good Goregrind.

And sometimes you're just in the mood for some Funeral Doom, where Evoken are undoubtedly the masters:

I could probably go on...

In how many genres can you find bands with animal vocalists?

Suffocation has been labeled the creators of Brutal Technical Death Metal. They've also been blamed for creating DethCore due to their habit of using breakdowns.

Oh damn a metal thread? Let me bring out my playlist. I'm not saying I have the best taste in the world, but you guys owe it to yourselves to listen to the songs I'm about to put here. We're going underground:

Lyfthrasyr - Perception Never Expected, the lyrics in this thing are too fucking tasty for some reason

Sigh - Finale / Hangman's Hymn / In Paradisum / Das Ende

Mors Principium Est - Parasites of Paradise, I found this band when I got Demon's Soul. I was looking for music to play with, I passed the whole game listening to them.

Illnath:Cast into the fields of evil pleasure

Mother fucking Kalmah, I should just put all their albums here, but I'll just put this one album:

Disarmonia Mundi- Stepchild Of Laceration

Korpiklaani - Happy Little Boozer, tell me you don't want to drink and dance to this.

DARK TRANQUILLITY - Iridium, this band is actually pretty well known, but I like it a lot.

Anata - Under Azure Skies, I'll stop with this one for now. This one is more of an acquired taste in my opinion, but give it a go, I like it.

Underground metal? There's so much of it...

These guys are about as underground as it gets: they only release their material on tape or vinyl.

Just tape releases? we're going in deep now lmao. The sound a bit punk or trash.
