I also dont know if i should go for FTW or superclocked though and what is your personal opinion between 670 and 680 ftw and superclocked editions?
superclocked is just a buzzier way of saying overclocked which simply means the internal clock is set higher than the spec specified by NVidia, which in turn gets you more flops and thus more pixels and thus more FPS in the same timeframe, in theory. now a 670 vs a 680, that's a hardware difference.
so, 670 FTW, 680 FTW, and 680 Overclocked.
All three of these have the exact same memory, same memory clock speed (6208), same capacity (2 gig), same BUS (256), so that's a non-factor.
FTW amounts to a buzzword, so is has about as much weight as "overclocked" or any other they might throw out..
the price point of the 680 and the 680 overclocked are identical, But look closely at the clock speeds. Normally the term "overclocked" means faster clock speeds, but since it's an arbitrary addition to the label it's not guaranteed. i'll admit i was fooled at first till i actualy compared the numbers, but the FTW edition you got there is faster than the overclocked one on newegg.
680 FTW
1084 MHz GPU
1150 MHz Boost Clock
vs.
680 overclocked
1058MHz Core Clock
1124MHz Boost Clock
so don't bother with the overclocked, you get less performance for precisely the same price.
so it's down to 680 FTW, vs 670 FTW.
so that's,
identical memory (counts in favor of 670)
1536 CUDA cores vs 1344, point in 680's favor, by 192 cores, or 14% increase of cores over the 670
1084 GPU vs 1006 GPU, 78 MHz in 680's favor, or 7.7% increase in clock speed over the 670
1150 boost clock vs 1084 boost clock, 66 MHz in 680's favor, or 6% increase in boost clock speed over the 670
price points: $470 for the 680, $390 for the 670, a difference of $80, or a 20.5% increase in cost over the 670
Power consumption: 500W vs 550, a 50 Watt difference, or a 10% increase in consumption.
Here's the thing, there is no guaranteed way to know exactly how much better one will perform over the other from the specs, benchmark tests do better but they are also dependent on the other components used. I have no idea how much bang 192 Cuda cores will do for your rig, or the extra hertz.
It boils down to are you willing to shell out the extra 80 bucks for the extra hardware potential. Both of those cards are hella powerful, i'm reasonably certain both could run B&S at max settings. If you want the absolute best, then the 680 ftw is the clear winner.
Personally, i would go for the 670, judging from the benchmarks i saw here i don't think the 680 version's performance increase warrants 80 bucks.
