Games go to F2P not because that is more profitable or fans want it, but because new games are just bad.
It's not the game that failed if the payment method changes. It's the payment method that failed the game.
Despite all of the awesome things that TERA has to offer, when you reach max level, the bottom line is that this is WOW from several years back (In other words, the WOW of today, is actually superior as far as content goes).
TERA damages itself further with its enchanting system and having everything else depend/revolve around said enchanting system only adds further damage.
So when you offer a game that offers inferior content to one that offers superior content and you hope to "take" from their subscriber base, you have to consider the results, before stamping the same payment model AND the same monthly pricing.
