TERA client is the most absurd piece of crap ever and the EME patcher/launcher is ten times worse than that.

Seriously, Aion wasn't this bad and that was downloading like 24 gigs. What the hell is this, like 100 gigs????? Apparently playing this has to be premeditated and not "Oh hey I'm bored gonna try this." Also probably a great way of pushing away people that aren't REALLY wanting to play it 8)''

Their website is hilarious too "HEY LOOK AT THESE TWEETS OBVIOUSLY FILTERED TO ONLY SHOW GOOD THINGS!"

So I finally got around to actually playing it. The character creation is restrictive and atrocious (not to mention 90% of the options are ugly as hell), the combat is boring and clunky, and really that's enough to make me not wanna play it. The Popori are really cute but that's all it has going for it. I would not recommend this at all :/

for me was very fast to redownload again the whole client, it was like 15 gbs? i dont remember was fast.

speaking about filtered information, everyone do that, just go to gw2 forums and post something bad which in fact is bad, they will delete, warn you or ban you

I haven't had a single reason to go to the GW2 forums, because everything works.
I've been to the TERA forums countless of times, only to leave frustrated due to locked threads where one or two kids decided to derail.
The most recent of these cases: The UI issues thread. Over 60 pages of documented material and THOUSANDS of views, locked over two kids that started arguing on the last page.
Whatever happened to just banning the problem kids?

Don't get me wrong, I think GW2 has problems, but technical? I can't count them.
In-game bugs? Yes.
TERA on the other hand...

and when did i deny something bad in TERA, i consider it dead game i played it, i paid for it, but you were complaining about two dumb things:

Download size, which i dled it again just to fool around, and didnt took me long, it was like 15gbs if i recall.

Homepage with filtered information, atleast you could see some complains around, but in gW2? i prepurchased that game...they close, ban people who ''dont like some stuff'' kicking them of the forums, but yet they leave open such threads like ''OMG THIS GAME ROCKS'' they cant stand when someone state the cons or has an objective opinion why something is bad, i could understand in rage dumb threads like ''OMG WVW ARMOR REPAIR TOO EXPENSIVE'' could be erased but others lol...they try to control and create the community, thats where they fail too, community is form by the playerbase not by the company they look like a big bunch of amateurs and a company or the site must supervise/organize the community not try to control.

Every single company at some point controls the information, always showing the good stuff and so on, wow, l2, rift, swtor, etc thats why i called him delusional.


so at the end you both didnt like and give your opinion but my opinion about TERA as game is: if you didnt like TERA's gameplay a little tiny bit then for sure you wont like B&S or you havent played it yet, the gameplay is closer to TERA than GW2, is another league, another concept, TERA and B&S are called MMOs.

It's not the download size, sir.
It's that many, many, many users get errors, the client stutters, stops downloads, can't patch, can't verify, etc. in many cases.
You just got lucky.

As for controlled content.
It's a lot more efficient to ban/lock a useless thread than to let it grow.
EME has been locking entire threads, good threads mind you, over 1 or 2 people out of hundreds, instead of banning those people instead.

Well, I didn't have any problems installing Tera on 3 PCs, the Download was fine, the installation was fine. All the way from closed beta testing. I do know a few people who had problems tho, same with GW2, i know a lot of ppl who had problems with download, installing, and problems in game. With everyone MMO theres going to be some kind of problem with some players and no problems with other players. In the end... who cares really? 99% of the time the company addresses the issue, and finds some fix for it.

As for my opinion about Tera (since this is the TERA topic)... I love the game, its the first in its class, its unique, the story is great, the races and classes are amazing, the mobs and bosses are pro, the graphics are crazy good. I've played tera everyday since CBT1. I got a lvl 60 priest in all T14 gears, and a Lvl 60 Lancer in some t14 and some t13 gears, and now im working on a sorcerer. I never get bored of tera. Theres enough to do on there to keep me satisfied.

It's simple for me, only 3 things.
1) Take your time. Rushing will only make you extremely bored later on in the game.
2) Play another game occasionally. Playing Tera (or any MMO) for 10 or more hours straight will drive anyone to boredom. Pretty sure this applies to any game you play.
3) Play with friends. If you don't have friends that play tera, then make friends. Being "forever alone" will only make you bored.

Indeed but we had 6 or 8 I can't remember. I know some of them were dieing, but Dragonfall (my original server) was far from dead. In fact that server was so active that it could have remained its own. We were always able to complete 2 nexus zones. Nodoubt the other servers were dieing due to some players quitting, but im sure it's also due to server switching, since that was allowed in the US version (idk about the EU version).

I came very close to resubbing TERA because I am getting a bit bored of BnS (This is a timezone issue, not the game!)

tl;dr version: The people I play with are in different time zones and we've all hit 45 and need to be on together to farm Pohwaran and such, hard to co-ordinate with work/school schedules right now till more ENglish players join our server.


Anywho, TERA fully patched is just under 30GB iirc. It was 28GB when I played back in September, my problem with TERA is that I don't even know if my chars exist. When I check the "Transfer Char" screen it lists my max level chars at -1, which isn't any good.

i also don't want to use up 30GB of bandwidth since I'm using up way too much this month livestreaming Blade and Soul, so maybe next month but I doubt it.

I don't want to resub to find out my chars are gone, TERA has enough issues and the biggest one is community. I want to join a guild and just farm some endgame dungeons on CD lock, but most cliques are formed and newer guilds are filled with casuals that don't have the gear/skill to handle most of the content, so... looks like I probably won't resub.

I've already made my decision on what classes I'll play for NA BnS too.

If it helps, to answer your question, your characters are there.
They just got renamed with a place holder name.
For example, if you were in Valley of Titans and your char name was Joe, you'll find him on the char select screen of the PVP realm as "Joe VOT" or "Joe VOT 2".
Also, when you try to play that char, you'll be forced to rename it.

That wasn't what I had said/asked.


I had to contact their customer support and they had to manually change database entries since a lot of people were affected with level changes after the merge.

@Jett: PvE, but you can change to MT/CH freely.
