You may or may not have seen me but i'm from TERA forums. Name's Choppa
I've been excitedly awaiting the release of Blade and Soul for international audience. Had the chance to play force-master so it was pretty fun!
Tera right now is under some of the most immature, childish venom trolling i've seen from a non-anime audience. On top of that the forums are so rigid/moderated(tons of trolling in CB1 in-game chat) that topics concerning Elins are getting closed down left and right with a case of a few still available. Elin Fans are taking the blunt of it unfortunately and there's really a really bad anti-anime feel to the game right now which is the ironic sad-point because it was bult for anime-type fans. It's like all the gamers who spend 12+ playing WoW and similar are just tearing up the game's Elin player-base with insults and these silly stupid comparison of fantasy v.s. reality. It could be that they simply don't want people to play tera at all(rabid fan devotions) but the whole anti-anime feel is just ridiculous and stupid if a company licenses a game that has anime elements in it then wants to censor it all up.
Elins are left out of all promotions except for a 5-second clip in the background.
I really think En-Mass did a bad job of communicating to its fans properly and the sprunged censorship. I hope B&S doesn't suffer the same fate TERA is going through.
I can watch anime-films, buy anime-films in the us (fun-animation), buy anime games in the us, and discuss them but with TERA cute-type characters are being treated as Satan's spawn. If these Korean-games are just going to be chopped up and blundered then maybe they shouldn't be released to the NA/EU.

We've already been over this many times in this topic, so you might be brushed aside. The only thing I could say on this is to avoid the forums on the official site, since the haters feel like they're getting backed by EME due to their censorship and won't stop relentlessly attacking everyone for no reason.
As for in-game chat, I saw a lot of trolling (not a lot of it was Elin related though), but I also saw a lot of Elin players, so obviously it's not a problem for the fans. And I'm sure EME has a Report Players policy in place, so if anyone WAS actually harassing people, they probably wouldn't be playing for long.

If the game allows it (WOW does at least) create your own chat channel and invite your friends. Or make a guild and use guild chat only.
Many options there.
MMOG start like this every time.
It'll slowly filter the bad apples over the first few months and around the 6th month things will start to become more organized as the economy begins to bloom and people start playing more seriously/competitively and placing fun above nonsense.

There is no law and order,
never is there equality to be found,
for love, we kill,
for murder, we die,
for death, we moan,
so why for sorrow, we love?
