Do we have a Guild Wars 2 thread?
I dont' know.
Anyway looks like NCSoft is in for a lot of money this year, both west side and east side.
Check this out very interesting take on how combat will work in Guild Wars 2 and I've personally been matching up some Guild Wars 2 concepts to Blade & Soul and there are similarities.

My level of excitement for GW2 knows no bounds... I have a feeling this game is going to have a MAJOR impact in the West.

I do love me some Charr! =) I always wanted to be one in the original GW, and when I first heard they were playable in GW2 I was ecstatic! Then I read the description of the Norn... damn you ArenaNet! I wanted to play a Charr! But now I feel obligated to play a Norn! XD Oh well, that's what alts are for. =P

The thing that excites me the most though is the Dynamic Event System they're toting, if this ends up working out they way they say it does, and from what the people who have demo'd the game have said it does, it will be revolutionary. It completely changes the entire idea of questing, as apposed to you hunting for quests, they just kind of come to you. It's amazing!

I am also psyched about the Charr. Although, tbh, the Asura are pretty cool, too (Golems/robots FTW!)

In all likelihood, I would probably roll a Charr Necromancer, though.

I'm definitely going Norn for my main... waiting till the reveal the final 3 classes before I make a true decision on that though. I'm almost certain 2 of the remaining 3 are going to end up being Mesmer and Assassin, but I have no idea what that last one is. And if that's the case I'm having trouble deciding between Ranger and Warrior....

P.S. Thank the lord all these MMOs on the horizon are breaking away from the "holy trinity", it's quite refreshing.

Lots of people are looking forward to this one. I'm more excited for B&S though, by far. This one might not be released for quite a while.

If I was a betting man, I would put my money on GW2 hitting the west well before B&S does.

B&S isn't going to be over here in NA/EU for quite a while. GW2 will probably be out first.

You're probably right though. I haven't really been keeping up with GW2. Maybe I'll look into it some more as a way to pass the time waiting for B&S.

It sounds like they will both be released towards the end of the year, but GW2 will hit the West first and BaS will hit the East first. This is a very intelligent idea on NCSofts part as they're both high profile MMOs, they would be competing with themselves if we had access to both at the same time. I'm going to assume you would just skip GW2 if BaS came out at the same time yes? NCSoft wants you to get both. =P

Haha, very true. I wouldn't even have time to notice GW2 releasing if they released at the same time here. Also, I noticed a lot of people in the west are looking forward to GW2. We wouldn't want them to steal all the thunder.

But I'm not sure how much of a competition with itself it would be. B&S is probably going to be P2P while GW2 is B2P. So ... I'll definitely be doing both ... regardless of whether or not they come out at the same time.

I concur, and that actually makes releasing GW2 here first an even better strategy overall. They only need people to spend the initial money on a copy since there's no monthly fee. Then months later once the hype is starting to wear off bring in BaS to hook the monthly fee. But I'm in the same boat, even if they both launched at the exact same time I would drop the money of both of them in a heart beat.

I'd get Guild Wars 2 Regardless as it is B2P.
Both Guild Wars 2 and Blade & Soul will be released this year and given a 6 month period to clench their region in their fists. Afterward they will each cross the sea.
Even though TERA, ArcheAge and Blade & Soul are the three massive of Korea right now I think Guild Wars 2 might have a decent shot over there.
For now I'm settled on Human Ranger until they tell me about the Assassin. If they make the Sylvari look better I might play one.
