Going forth, I believe we'll be seeing decent to very good ports, back and forth between PC and consoles, given how consoles will be essentially stripped/locked down PC's with nearly identical architecture from here on. This is, however, graphically. I am not talking about FOV (Which will always be higher on PC) nor customization (Which is always more broad on PC). Developers could potentially limit the two above (Which would really irk me to no end; specially the FOV part).
However, in 2+ years... things may go back to how they were between 2005-2012 (Don't quote me here; I am hoping this isn't the case!).
I think graphically, things won't really move all that much more forwards. It'll be the same as usual, where PC > console as far as power output goes for graphics, but it won't be a dramatic difference. (See PC w/DX11+Massive VRAM space for massive textures and consoles w/DX9+Very limited VRAM preventing higher resolution textures; this is the current, since 2006 but it's set to change drastically now).
Likewise, the whole first party licensing thing, will also be diminished, where development priority is console > PC (It might be the other way around when you think about it).
I am very curious about Destiny.
It seems to have all of the things Firefall has, with a more polished environment/back story. And believe me, I love Firefall as it is
