Yet another snippet taken from the all new Blade & Soul official Korean website (link). We've prepared the Auto Targeting, Death System and Action Button Interface videos for you guys and placed English subtitles containing Yuan's translations! This post also contains a little profession information. It may not be very detailed but it is still very interesting.

Auto Targeting
A couple weeks ago Team Bloodlust announced that Blade & Soul will be using an auto targeting system, you can view the announcement here. They stated that they implemented this feature to give the player more freedom, freedom to do other things when playing Blade & Soul. They sure pulled it off! The auto targeting feature will automatically target the enemy that is directly in front of your character. This video will show you exactly how auto targeting works in Blade & Soul. Take a look!

Death System
Team Bloodlust revealed another video along side the auto targeting demonstration above, it covers Blade & Soul's death system! I'm sure this feature was lurking around everyone's mind for quite some time now. What would an MMO be without a death system? Anyway, let's get this explained! Your character will be placed under the "Worn Out" state upon it's health reaching zero. When in this "Worn Out" state you'll be able to crawl away from your defeat in shame. Once you have crawled to a safe location away from trouble you have two options to chose from. You can either use the "Chi Meditation" ability which slowly leads your character into recovery or simply teleport yourself to the nearest village. If your character reaches zero life again within a certain amount of time you will not be placed in the "Worn Out" state, this prevents you from using the "Chi Meditation" ability again. Instead, upon your second death, you will be teleported to the nearest village.

Action Button Interface
For the final video we have Team Bloodlust explanation on how Blade & Soul's action button interface will work. Blade & Soul will be using a very minimalistic UI, keeping things clean and less cluttered. The action buttons will change depending on what abilities can be used at that point and time. For example, say you've just knocked your enemy into the air with a neat ability, while the target is in the air your action buttons will change, showing you new abilities that can be used on mid air targets. Let me stop blabbering here and allow you to watch this video on your own. It does a better job explaining it than I do!

Professions
Finally, we have professions! Again, what would an MMO be without these bad boys!? Blade & Soul will have loads of content regarding crafting and production. There will be specific organizations, or clans, that watch over each individual profession in Blade & Soul. For example, you go to the "Clan of Big Fish" to catch some fish, you then take that fish to the "Clan of Fine Taste" to cook it and eat it. Another example would be to visit the "Clay Vase Shop (or clan)" to make you own clay vase, you can later create potions using the new vase. Most items you create in Blade & Soul can be used by yourself or traded to others.

There is little information released about crafting, this was all we were given. I'm sure we will receive more throughout G-Star 2010! Stay tuned!

Awesome read, really unique way to remove healing from the game yet still tie it in using Chi meditation and not your generic: "I'm a ghost, let me run back to my body." upon death.

I AM GOING INSANE RIGHT NOW. THE DEATH SYSTEM IS WHAT I HAVE ENVISIONED. THE COMBAT IS LIKE A SEMI FIGHTER QUICK CHOICE. AND THE AUTO TARGET IS SIMPLE AND VERY EFFECTIVE. THIS GAME IS A MOTHER F ING MIDNIGHT RELEASE.

Auto-target is so perfect, it's really up to you how you handle the battle.

Death system is perfect, it just goes with oriental fantasy perfectly. Meditation - Buddhism, etc.

Action button interface's great since presents you with multiple skills that are good in different situations. Also like the fact that you get more of them as you level up! Can't wait to mix these up.

Professions! These are always welcomed in my book, it breaks the mold of just fighting while contributing to market/guild/town and your overall inventory.

What should I profess in? EASY, Blacksmith-ing! Have always loved that. *cough* I will have a large hammer after all *cough*

Again the Green team gets my sincerest thanks. Thank you!

This is going to be the best MMO ever made.

Everthing is just mindblowngly awesome.
However I do have some questions.

Has it been stated at what happens when you die, it looked like you ressed somewhere else?
Will there be a res/death sickness or penalty if you die?
Any info if there will be a way to heal during combat, besides potions (or whatever it'll be called in BnS)?

As far as professions go, I hope that we can not only create useful itms for your toons, but maybe cosmetic items for your toon & home or even guild Dojo/Base.

I don't think you die, you have a choice of meditation or teleporting to the nearest town when you have become incapacitated. Also there is no healing class so we're going to have to wait and see if there is an alternative to potions.

HP hits 0
Enter Worn State.
Options: "Mediate", "Teleport to binding point"
Mediate: Regerate health and rejoin the fight.
Return to bind Point: Go back to last saved spot.

If Attacked while in Worn State. You die and are forced back to your Bind point.

Question: What sense does that make in PvP?
Answer: Well in 1v1, not too much, unless you get very lucky.
In Group PvP, your Allies can protect you while you regerate.

It's seems like our definitions of dying differ. I'm guessing you are refering to dying as, no longer able to fight and no other options but to "res". I didn't really count crawling on the ground and having the option to heal yourself or teleporting to the nearest town as "death". Death in my eyes is when the character is no longer of this world or they can't move and are forced to go back to town.

In the worn state no monsters are going to attack you unless you start mediating in front of them, then in which the part you are referring to, the player "dies". It just seems like the worn out state is a 2nd chance/option to choose other than immediately going back to town. I would think when you get hit when mediating you are basically choosing the option to go back to town.

Actually if they don't like it they will troll the videos and fansites and anything that relates to it and do their best to try and make those who play and like it feel like they are some how inferior for enjoying it.

At least that's what I've witnessed. Should see WoW players bashing F2P games on youtube.

Edited the main post to better describe the death system.

Anyway, let's get this explained! Your character will be placed under the "Worn Out" state upon it's health reaching zero. When in this "Worn Out" state you'll be able to crawl away from your defeat in shame. Once you have crawled to a safe location away from trouble you have two options to chose from. True, I re-read the death system again, and somehow I missed the whole last sentence about dying twice. I don't see how anyone would want to mediate in front of a mob and have to run/fly/mount ride your way back to where ever you were before.
