Is AION locked to other regions like the Americas? If it's not then it most likely won't be region-locked.

When referring to "the west", commonly Europe and "the US" are mentioned,
as those are the two main territories where stuff like this actually sells.
Most other territories do not have the luxury / funds to setup with this,
so that's why it is commonly left out.
This does not, however, mean that EU/US are the only locations this will be sold.
Part of the middle east tends to get some love, a part of Africa, mid- and south-america
and oceania tend to be part of the Equation, though I recall those places have to connect to the US-servers (?)
So, there is a fair chance it will not be "just EU/US".

TERA was released with a NA and an EU version.
But Europeans can still play on the NA servers and I have met people from outside NA/EU on the European servers.
So I don't see why it would be limited in that sort of way, but I don't know for sure.

Those who mind won't matter and those who matter won't mind.

NA/EU versions of most online games are usually global, so if i were you I wouldn't worry about that too much.
What I'm worried about is if i can get invited to their close beta tests, but since they haven't released any information on closed alpha or beta tests (and they don't even have a forum up on the site yet) , I'm getting more and more paranoid about it :/ . I hate this phase of development in games. The phase when the devs just leave everyone in the darkness with no useful Info! it drives me NUTS!!!
