I have no idea where I'm supposed to go next without the yellow quest marker.

If i remember correctly you first have to finish all other quests (the blue ones which contains lots of tutorials quests) before your story quests (yellow quests) proceeds.

Ah gotcha, I never knew the side quests were mandatory. I'm trying to get the furthest into the game before hitting the level 15 cap on this trial account. Thanks a lot though!

They aren't usually mandatory, but in this case they are.
