Indeed same here, I took at least an hour to create my character in Champions Online, and I'm a big fan of character customization like the APB video. The optional presets would be a good thing to have for those who don't want to take hours on creating their character with a good amount of presets to choose from. Then for the people who like the extreme customization they can chose amongst the presets and customize their character for how ever long that they want.

When it comes to MMORPGs like this I'm hungering for full customization, when I create my character it's an online representation of me (Okay not literally I don't make it look like me but you know what I mean), so I want to have the option to tweak it as I see fit, in practically any way I want - as you can probably tell I'm another one of those people who spends agesss at the character customization screen perfecting the various sliders. And for those who want presets it's easy enough to have this full customization whilst maintaining a fair few 'Preset appearances', or even a randomize button for those who want some individuality but don't want to put in the time.

Exclusively using presets would drive me nuts though, everyone looking the same D: Reminds me of Silk Road.

Have any of you guys played Demon's Souls by any chance?
Well, that's exactly how I want B&S's character costumization to be like

Presets which can be edited;

How long/short the hair will be, or if you want hair at all
Color of your eyes
How round/long your face will be
etc.

And for those who want presets, they should make them their presets

I think customization is underrated by some developers. Luckily BnS has a good customization, and I do spend a lot of time creating my character.

In fact I like it so much as playing the game itself. Sometimes I even create new characters just for the few minutes of entertainment that it provides, without even playing that character later xP

Agreed. Great graphics and the ability to make your character look how you want, is what I see helps people enjoy the game so much more. There are other aspects of course, but from what I've seen, games with higher customization of characters seem to get stronger communities. Not always enough, but it's a good start.

I guess I'd go full customization, I don't care too much for body customization, but I like a good selection of hairstyles and face types.
I don't care if I see little big heads, or other ugly creations around me, that's up to those people, but that was mostly Aion lol.

Anyway Blade and Soul has both some presets to choose from and full customization, so I don't see the point of this thread.

Anyhow, I like Eve Online's character creator. (I do not play the game, myself. I just love the realism.)
Realism or not, I am a -huge- fan of Hyung Tae Kim's art-style.
