Blade & Soul

  1. FPS?

Well a lot more can still be done with the engine, hell RockSteady for the Batman Arkham Knight still uses the Unreal Engine 3 which is heavily modified but what Atheyana is eluding to is it has DX11 features in it now. But with that being said the PC version of the Batman game is a complete and utter mess to the extent it's been pulled off steam until they can fix it. Besides all of that NcSoft has already bought the license from Epic Games for Unreal Engine 4. I also just don't see NcSoft putting forth the effort to make the changes for BnS to use the newer shader effects let alone DX11. Could be more of a headache then a gain really...
  2. FPS?

What the......Blade and Soul uses the Unreal Engine 3, A very old engine now ( almost 10 years old? ). The engine was optimized with dual core processors, which is why people that have newer hardware are having a tough time getting the game to run good. It's especially bad for AMD people that went and got 6-8 core processors, this game engine doesn't know what to do with them, it needs more single core speed. With that said The Unreal Engine 3 made by Epic Games didn't build the game engine with MMO's in mind, Ncsoft modified the engine to get it to work but as you all can see has very much mixed results in performance. The unreal engine also suffers from memory leaks, so again you don't need the latest and greatest to run BnS, that's just crazy talk especially as other's have pointed out its only using DX9 which is another limitation of the engine. In short, the game is poorly optimized that NcKorea never bothered to go back and try to fix and make improvements to the modified engine...
  3. This Game Makes Me So Sad :\

Yeah, I get between 200-250 ping with booster, and even with that you have to limit what classes you can play with that kind of delay. Most people are just picking very easy spammable classes but trying to play a 'Kung Fu Master'...forget about it. In regards to PvP as well? yeah no thanks not with that delay and literally seeing the Chinese players attacking twice as fast as you are just means you're gonna get owned pretty quickly. I'd suggest just playing for the PvE aspect of the game if you are still itching to play the game, plus the PvP is limited and not really fleshed out as in other NcSoft MMO's (Aion).
  4. Because you played it right? Please.... As for 'WildStar' (WS) haven't got into the Beta yet, hoping I will at some point. Seems people here in this little community don't like the art in WS but I get the feeling the combat and content will be there to keep players engaged. Having played Blade and Soul now I see as to why NcSoft is not rushing to give us the game. In my opinion outside of the combat and anesthetics everything about BnS is so typical, quests are the same ole' same ole', heavy class imbalances for pvp, not enough content and I am playing it very casually. Seems to me it has the same problem TERA had where you are running certain dungeons over n' over again until your eyes bleed...sorry that's not entertaining that's repetitive garbage. In my opinion BnS will suffer the same fate TERA had gone through, there is just not enough 'staying power' to keep players engaged for years to come unless NcSoft can start pumping out content like there is no tomorrow. However I feel that's the downside of 'theme park' MMO's, I don't think ANY developer will be able to keep up with how fast us players will consume content and then bitch and moan there is nothing to do in game. I truly believe game developers need to incorporate both theme park and sandbox elements to help better the longevity of a MMO.
  5. [ABANDONED] English Patch For Bns China

Getting the same problem has some, had to reinstall the game and when trying to install the english patch again its asking for the BnS steup.exe file, which I tried pointing to it and its not appearing on the list? Most likely doing something wrong any help would be appreciated.
  6. Looking For Guild On 知足常乐

Hello, myself and 2 of my friends are looking for english speaking Guilds on 知足常乐. We are all on mostly during the evenings would like to join a mature friendly environment. Guild that uses voice chat also a big plus. Thanks in advanced! PS - Any officer or leader from 我们讲英语 (Wǒmen jiǎng yīngyǔ) could get back to us would be appreciated.
  7. TERA was nice the first couple of times through, but as was said already the end game was horrific. Add on to it the fact the political system and Nexus system failed horribly as well. The political system was easily abused so the same guild would get the vanarch spot of their choosing, and then raise taxes to 15%, and then the failed nexus system which was copied from Rifts events, the nexus event was a performance nightmare, about 200 people on your screen and your FPS slowing to a crawl..read: 1-5 FPS no matter how strong your comp specs. Enchanting also mentioned in this thread was a totally nightmare basically the same as Aion's but the success rate was even lower. You would easily go broke in a matter of mins trying to enchant your gear up, the new updated added a battleground ( 1 map ) and between the balance between classes and yes even server side lag, making it a horrible experience. In just under 6 months En Masse had to consolidate the servers from 11 down to a mere 3 servers, making the nexus events performance even more horrific. Character creation was also very simplistic and no depth to really make your avatar your own. So yes TERA right now ( still play here and there, am terribly bored already having 3 level 60's ) is in deep shit right now. In my opinion the only way I see it surviving is going F2P. K- Tera also hurting since the release of BnS. With all that said about TERA, I worry for the future of Blade and Soul here in the U.S., you all should know by now that K-MMO's do very poorly since Lineage 2 doing bad ( horrible grind), Aion ( RNG on everything), and now recently TERA's failures. NCwest unfortunately does NOT have a good track record either, so while it is awesome to see that BnS is already under development for us, I also can't seem to help but worry about how Blade and Soul will perform given the past track history of K-MMO's. Its no doubt that Blade and Soul will have a small niche community, but I am hoping it will perform better then how TERA is currently doing months after launch.
