  1. the last field says that your id is a korean id, or a visa, or some other form. I dont think you do enter a KSSN. They want a korean mobile phone number so they can send you an SMS. That is the second row of fields.
  2. from a tech perspective, you'd be better off waiting 6 months if you can. Starting in January, 800m series laptops will be coming out. Even the mid-range of these should probably perform at the 660TI SC desktop level. Also, your whole PC sucks. Really, really sucks... does that say DDR2 ??? That wasn't even an option anytime in the past 7 years... Buy a new PC. A $500 laptop 6-8 months from now will greatly outperform your desktop, plus you can take it with you. obviously waiting 6-8 months might not be an option — but buying a graphics card for that rig is just burning money.
  3. 创建进程c:\progra~1\腾讯游戏\剑灵 _~1\bin\client.exe失败! 错误码:14001. Creating process c:\progra~1\Tencent Games\Sword of the Spirit_~1\bin\client.exe failed! with error code: 14001.
  4. actually .. it is likely that you can, just strip the ".dial.xw...." part, because that will change. The thing is, that is a temporary IP. Your ping might change later on.
  5. I thought I'd post some suggestions for people like me who don't speak chinese, and also don't want to skip reading basic things like what an item is, etc, when the english patch doesn't catch it. This guide tells you how to get up and running quickly with a setup that will help you translate for yourself. • set the viewport to windowed mode. this will allow you to quickly, easily use screencap, and a web browser. • open a browser tab to http://www.ocr-extract.com/ — this will help you extract text if you specify that it is simplified chinese. It is by no means perfect, but its a start. • open a browser tab to http://translate.google.com/ — set the input language to simplified chinese, and on the bottom left corner of the screen set the input method to pen. • open another tab to http://www.chinese-t...nograms.html?r= Now, when you want to read something: take a screencap, save in PNG format use the crop tool in an image editor like paint.NET to crop it down to just the text you want open the image on ocr-extract.com copy the result and paste it into google translate now go through and find all the characters that it got wrong ... ... for each one, draw it with google's pen input tool ... if you get stuck, use the chinese-tools page to look up the left (or top) part of the symbol, this is usually the radical. note: the layout at http://www.nciku.com/search/radical is visually better, and has pinyin attached immediately to each symbol, but it divides up the radicals by stroke so you can't see them all at once.
  6. maybe we need a wiki?
  7. There's a bazillion things in pinned right now (alright, only about 10) .. it would be nice if we could get an admin to recombine them and clean it up. For example there is: • Blade and Soul OB Event — this has expired • 4 Server threads and an additional Guild list (which is basically another server thread, if you think about it) • a trouble-shooting thread, a help with quest and stuff thread, and a patch thread only for the english patch And what makes sense is just: • Server and Guild thread • Install and Troubleshooting thread (parent thread with links to english patch thread, BNSManager thread, Windows 8.1 with CF thread, etc) • Help with Quests and stuff thread
  8. Hey yeah. And obviously *we* don't know what we're talking about, so you can't trust anything you read there!
  9. Looks like UAC. Running as admin isn't enough because it doesn't exec() the TenProtect process, so that launches without admin permissions even when the parent process had it. PS, I'm not sure which process needs permission to be modified so that you don't have to run your system without UAC.
  10. Thank you futilepath .. I guess I might try the patch afterall. I guess that right now I'm actually more concerned with UAC for the game! Still, going to take my sweet time thinking 'bout it... no source means it is definitely a risk. Well open development would mean source available... tell me when that happens because I can handle source for modding an xml.dat file :) officially requesting you post source on github :) Hey, that way we can all work on translation
  11. Okay so I was told to consider the patch. I don't like using a setup.exe program I downloaded from a non trusted site so ... could anyone out there share their patched xml.dat file pls? I can just swap it in I guess.
  12. Because I'm not at all interested in possibly introducing holes into the security of my system by running patches that are found randomly on the internet. Especially when UAC has to be turned off to get the thing to run. Besides, won't a patch break every time an update comes out?
  13. I am working on translating the configuration screen. I have no hope of doing this practically, but I can pen out the letters and use my C-E dictionary to find the literal meaning. Please feel free to contribute .. almost all the work has yet to be done! If you look below the image, you can see the translation on each of the image pages. http://imgur.com/a/mI6Av#0 Pages done: 声效 QQ Sound tab QQ section 图像 主题设定 Graphics tab Theme Settings section Nearly done: 游戏 目标锁定 Game tab Targeting section
  14. We have a working solution (you can read about in other threads) to run BNS on windows 8.1. The thing is, it could be improved. UAC should never be an issue. There has to be some way to get this to work with UAC on. Location is probably not an issue. At least, you should be able to get by, one would think, with applocale in place of this step. — I can verify that the TP error I get when I used applocale but did not have UAC disabled was not scrambled, nor were there any ? marks where chinese text should be in either launcher. The solution doesn't specify that you cannot attempt to launch BNS first, doing so will prevent Crossfire's TenProtect from loading into memory. The solution doesn't verify what should be found running after launching Crossfire. If we knew this we might be able to find a shorter solution that copies that one executable over to the BNS directory. There's no link in the threads I've seen from getting it to work to what to do from there. :) It'd be nice to boot people up cleanly. If you can help with any of these topics, please post it!
