Blade & Soul

  1. You've always been able to do this...gosh. You act like the game's in a different language or something.
  2. Kennywu Ama

Man, I feel for you. My SO is Korean so I always do dungeons with her and she gets the groups together. I've only gone without her a few times and that's when she set me up with some friends of hers. If you press your 'P' button there is a tab for people/groups looking for parties for dungeons, but it's in Hangul. Also, I've tried going into dungeons by clicking the 'flame dungeon party' thingy by the entrance to dungeons. Most of the time I just sit a wait for like 5 minutes and leave. The few times I actually got into a party I don't say or type anything cause the party might kick me. Some Koreans have no idea what you are saying and they might think you're a Chinese farmer. Some know English but are too shy/lazy to communicate. Some are just racist and they hate westerners, especially westerners playing their Korean game on Korean servers. This is just from my experience.
  3. Kennywu Ama

Yes! While leveling up I encountered these in the PvP arena and it was annoying!

Hi BirdOfHermes, You are absolutely right about getting the skills translated onto the Wiki. It'll take some time but I'll see what I can come up with. I think Di'el did a great job, too! He did the Blade Master as well as the LBM. The skills are hard to translate to English though, not to mention they're also difficult for Koreans to understand well. I can't count how many times I've ask my Korean friends what X skill does and they have no idea, unless they play the class regularly. There are skill builds that most people follow for PvP and dungeons but skills that aren't used in those builds can be difficult to understand. I've built skill trees and tested them out on practice dummies just to see what they do, but there's a limit to that. One thing I can pass to you is that on the skill tree skills have a green, yellow, or red little box in the corner. Green means it's a non-combat skill, yellow means a state inducing skill (knock-back, knock-down, groggy, or stun), and red means damage increase skill. If you want to build a PvP skill tree one might take more yellow skills than red. From my experiences: There's a pretty even distribution of classes among all the classes. I think Koreans pick the class they like to play the most. Many avoid BM and Assassins because of the skill it takes to master them. Many dislike Summoners because of the lack of damage output. Female players usually play Mages, Summoners, and LBMs. You might see more Destroyers because of the ease it takes to start and the low ceiling level to master. I feel that Destroyers will appeal more to Western audiences due to they're size and abilities. But, the gold farmers use Destroyers only due to their survivability and ease of play.

Hmmm... As far as games being played here, it's one of the top online games along with LoL, Aion, Tera, Sudden Attack, and Lineage. I know Koreans from all over the penninsula that play. BnS players love the game, it's story, and graphics but they want more endgame content, pve and pvp wise. That should soon be solved with the release of the new area. Many complain that the latest 4/6 man endgame dungeon was hastily put out to satisfy the masses, so expect more from the next 'expansion'.

Like the description says...I've been playing this game for about a year on a Korean server with my Korean SO. I've got 5 level 45+ characters that you can see here. I've experienced everything the game has to offer. I've been a lurker on this site posting rarely, but I've gotten some good information and some chuckles, too. I'd just like to give anyone who is curious an opportunity to ask anything about this game; from classes, skills, PvP, dungeons, or any social/monetary/Asian culture aspect of this game. Keep in mind that I live in South Korea so your questions/comments might go unanswered until I can get to them. (Please refrain from flaming or asking about getting an account created. Those things will be ignored.) Here's a bit 'o background before we begin. I live in Seoul, South Korea. My SO took me to a internet cafe/PC room to play WoW and Diablo 3. That's when I saw some people playing BnS. I told her that I wanted to play it. She also wanted to play but was hesitant because the game is not in English. (My Hangul is terrible.) Nevertheless, we started while she translated everything for me. I leveled my Destroyer first, then the LBM, next the BM, after that the Mage, and finally I got an Assassin. She has many toons also, including a Summoner and KFM. I can answer an questions about any of those classes. As far as I can tell, I'm the only foreigner on my server. My characters are in three different Korean guilds. Shall we begin?
  7. Inflation and money sinks

Oh please tell me more! This sounds interesting.
  8. I need skill build [blade master]

I just saw this post...it really should be moved to the Blade Master forum but I'd be happy to help. Here is a link to my BM dungeon tanking skill tree. I'd give you my PvP one too but I don't PvP with this toon.
  9. Blademaster Airborne Skill

Maybe I can clarify a bit more for you. To 'lift' and enemy into the air, the enemy must be in a stunned state (1 of the 4 states that you can put enemies into). There are a few ways a BM can do this. You won't be able to do all of them until you are max level and have the proper skills leaned/activated in your tree. That's what you see the videos...everyone is at max level. When the enemy is in a stunned or groggy state, your 'F' key will appear for a brief moment and you will be able to lift the enemy and perform aerial moves. The way you are describing to stun the enemy happens as so; you run towards the enemy and perform the LB 'dash' move, if this move is a critical hit it will stun the enemy. This move can only be performed will running, though. Off the top of my head here are other ways that my BM stuns/grogginess the enemy: 1) 'Z' will kick a parrying or blocking enemy 2) 'C' will shoulder block 3) 'Tab' will stun 4) if you time your '1' block with an enemy attack it will stun. One thing that I think some non-players or beginners need to understand about stuns, knockdowns, grogginess, and knock-backs is this: Some basic moves will perform the mentioned states on enemies from the start. If you put skill points into the tree of the move, it may REMOVE the state inducing effect but add something else (like extra damage or life leech). Meanwhile, some basic moves will NOT perform the mentioned states on enemies from the start. If you put skill points into the tree of the move, it may ADD a state inducing effect. For example...a Lyn BM's dash does a bit of damage, will add 3 'chi' power to the player, and has like a ~6 second cool down. If you put a point into the dash's skill (1st row) the move will now do a bit of damage, only award 1 'chi' power to the player, but now the move will stun the enemy and has ~30s cool down. I hope this helps.
  10. Valentine's Day Doboks!

Valentine's day is about the girls, not really the guys. Hence the focus on that for this update. They're giving players with female avatars a sexy valentine's gift. FTFY
  11. Gon pvp

You really play a destroyer and complain about the spin? It's THE staple move of that class. Destroyers have no backstep, sidestep, parries, or blocking moves. We rely on our spins to get us out of jams and move us faster to our targets. If you don't like the speed and defense increase of the spin then do not put skill points into the skill tree. As for the discussion about class balance and devs listening to the customers for changes. Have you people who have been playing since the Arena's release not seen the class/skill changes for balancing purposes? I see new changes to classes weekly due to player feedback and complaints. Here are just a few off the top of my head: Destroyers now start arenas at 100% rage power instead of 0% and they regen rage out of combat instead of staying level. All classes can now break out of the LBM's force hold instead of being helplessly grabbed every 60s. So keep complaining please cause this is how changes are made. But stop being dicks while doing so.
  12. Valentine's Day Doboks!

Very sexy indeed. But don't be fooled by the advert....it's W10,000 for one outfit and not a 'gift' from NC.
  13. New DBSH after patch 01/30/13

The test dummies aren't new. They've been there for a month or so. Those item drops are used in the 6-man dungeon, the Ice Warehouse. You use them to summon a special boss which has something to do with the legendary weapon quest line.
  14. -11C in Seoul...and it's only December.
