  1. Pretty much this. With that tweet, I'm done with this game. At this point, even if we do get local servers which would be at the soonest a month or 2 down the line, everyone in the region who would play on the servers would have already played it somewhere else, whether it be on NA, TW, CN or JP. So when or if they even do bring the servers here, the population wouldn't be able to sustain them. 3 and a half years I've been following this game, hoping and praying for local servers but it's obvious it's not happening now. Happy gaming guys. Peace.
  2. ZiggyD is a great guy, I frequently watch his path of exile stuff, so I believe he was just creating this video for the benefit of Australian audiences. It should be noteworthy to add that it does say in the description that he has full control over the content within the videos. So this video probably isn't indicative of NCSoft's agenda. But all I hear in my heart is: "We probably won't get a nearby server... BUT, we can still play some classes, some of the time, with mediocre results... But it's still playing the game right?" Still holding my breath for OCE servers... But I'm quickly suffocating.
  3. They've already taken my money... Maybe I should just get a refund.
  4. Discussion about SEA/Oceanic Servers

We always try so hard, but never get far.
  5. Discussion about SEA/Oceanic Servers

The downside to hosting in singapore is that they don't have anything there at the moment. They would have to find a location where they are able to set up the server (this can sometimes mean making a deal with local ISPs to have a server rack in their datacentres or just finding a small house with adequate cooling and a fantastic internet connection to put the server in) and employ several staff on site to maintain it. The problem lies in that it wouldn't be cost effective to set up all that for what NCSoft predicts will only have 1 or 2 populated servers from this region. And yeh, probably 90% of people in the region would have under 100 ping with boosters.
  6. Discussion about SEA/Oceanic Servers

That's why Singapore was a good place. It's cheap and pretty much every country is connected directly to Singapore. Again, we might have a little over a hundred ping, but it's still TWICE as good as the 230+ ping to America. I haven't had this issue using WTFast... is it common?
  7. Discussion about SEA/Oceanic Servers

Hosting a private server pretty much means devoting your life to running it. Such a person would also need the hardware to do so as well. Unfortunately it's not a viable option. What I'm proposing wouldn't be under another publisher apart from the physical maintenance of the server. It would be everything that the NA servers are, just as a single server rack in one of the other region's server rooms. This is the big one isn't it? It's all well and good to be able to play the game, but it's not a single player game is it? I had a great time on the chinese servers, but unless my friend was on translating for me, I was running around blind. This isn't such a big issue anymore as there is the Free version of WTFast. it's not as good as the premium version but it's close in my experience.
  8. So I want to discuss the viability of having Oceanic servers hosted in various different places, the goal being to create ideas or option that NCSoft hasn't considered and increase the chance of us having a local server in the region. I don't know if a similar topic has been created but I haven't been able to find anything simpler so here goes. Would it be possible to have an english server hosted in one of the already established regions? - I know there's a Hong Kong server for the Chinese version. I get latency in the low hundreds to there. - Taiwan, for reasons above. They're right next to each other so the ping should be identical. - Japan. Ping is around 150 to japan which is a bit higher, but it's still playable. I think of this because all of the infrastructure is already there, so there wouldn't be the extreme costs of starting from scratch. There must already be staff managing the servers in these regions. Would there be any drawbacks to just throwing an english server in one of these locations apart from tinkering with the networking code a little? These options aren't ideal but they're a damn sight better than the 200+ unstable ping to texas. Also Singapore. What happened to that? Not long after the first BnS english stream by Omeed and Co. it was said that Singapore was being explored as a place to host a server but we never heard anything after that. And finally, anyone from NCSoft, it would be great to get some insight on these issues, because I think I speak for a lot of people in the region when I say we feel neglected just because the region has been deemed unprofitable.
  9. [Ended] Dojo Beta Keys Giveaway [Ended]

The thing I'm looking forward to most is being able to finally perform the tight technical combos of the assassin with decent ping, I loved playing Assassin on BnS china but unfortunately didn't make it to end game because of the unstable ping. My most memorable experience would probably have to be dueling another Assassin over and over again in BnS china while waiting for the weapon boss to spawn in the desert area. We literally spent hours dueling while trying to get the doboks and tile sets :). My favourite aspect would definitely have to be the polish of the combat system. The fluidity of the animations, the beauty of the visual effects and particles and what I consider to be the best; the satisfying sound design. I absolutely love attacking something and having it actually sound like I've dealt some damage to it. That being said, Good lucky everyone!
  10. What are your fears & why?

Living in Australia, I'm naturally impervious to animal fears. Kidding, I hate giant snakes X_X. My biggest fear though is probably dying before I live a fulfilling life.
  11. In-Depth Feature List?

Haha, Thanks. The last time I was here was last year some time and there was no wiki then, so I didn't even notice. :embarrassed:
  12. In-Depth Feature List?

Does anyone know where I might find an in-depth feature list for BnS? My GoogleFu only brings up things relating to classes and races and the story.
  13. Question about party loot

This, is going to make me lose alooooooot of money. May my in-game wallet rest in piece. :joss_stick:
  14. Can someone please translate this?

    Need moar :dribble:
  15. The Tower of Mushin Drops White Fashion

The outfit looks good. Let's hope it doesn't get censored or anything like they've told us.
