Thank you for commenting otherwise I wouldn't have known about the Dojo closing. I don't play the game anymore, but I'm sad to see it go =( I will copy our idea to a document for safe-keeping even though I know it will never be used. It's still a good memory and a wonderful example of creative teamwork. I am so proud of everyone who contributed, and especially you for putting this all together. It's a bit frustrating knowing how much work and passion went into this, yet there was no acknowledgement from NCsoft Korea, nor was it brought to their attention by NCwest staff. Oh well. I'm just glad we'll be able to get most of our idea from a different game, and at this point I'd have to say it's a much better game. I hope to see any of you in Moonlight Blade or Bless Online, because that's where I'll be next.
  2. Hi guys. I need to share my feelings about the game at this point, and I would appreciate any thoughts you have on the matter. (Wall of text incoming) I have been a huge fan of Blade & Soul since the very first trailer back in 2008 and I've followed the game every step of the way. I was a hard core player since day 1 of the NA/EU release and up until now, I was playing every day. But over the past few months, I've been in a slump that I can't seem to get out of. I took that time to really give it some thought, and I made some major realizations that I'm having trouble coming to terms with. For me, the game has lost its magic...or maybe there really wasn't much of it to begin with. To explain it better and for organizational purposes, I'm going to categorize my points like a review. - Combat Blade & Soul has the best combat I've ever played in an MMO. That seems to be a widely shared opinion. I play 5 different classes and every single one is so unique and fun to play (I especially love my WL main and my KFM). But after a loooong time of endgame PvE, I started noticing my attitude towards the combat changing. It was starting to frustrate me and bore me - which I never thought possible. I couldn't figure out exactly what the reason was until the gunner gameplay videos started coming out. Then it immediately hit me: SPEED. Especially in PvE, Blade & Soul's combat is all about speed. How fast you can animation cancel. The major problem with animation canceling is that every single class becomes seamless, button-smashing, DPS-spamming machines. Their unique martial arts play-style and beautiful animations go right out the window. Instead, each class's combat becomes different color flashes of light. The gunner class made me realize this because in every boss fight or DPS test, the players were animation canceling. I had absolutely no idea what the animations looked like. Just flashes of light, explosions and sounds. So if that's how you PvE, what makes the gunner any different than any other class spamming their skills and canceling their animations? The only thing that actually shows off the animations is the PvP arena, which (ironically) is what Blade & Soul combat is best known for. In games that don't rely on animation canceling, each class has fully-realized animations and gameplay that set them apart from the others. That to me is important and makes a class feel special. Watch Moonlight Blade combat - you'll see what I mean. Compare Blade & Soul combat as it is now to what it looked like in the original trailers. It's eye-opening. The fact that Blade & Soul doesn't utilize the trinity system makes setting the classes apart in combat and style even more important. - World and Story While cliche and predictable, I personally love Blade & Soul's story. If it were a book, I would read the whole thing. It's nice to play an MMO with such a well put together storyline as it adds both entertainment and an emotional factor to the gaming experience. However....I recently came to the conclusion that Blade & Soul relies too heavily on the story. What I mean is that the entire open world (minus a few pvp zones) is solely used for the story and nothing else. Once you pass through the story, you can kiss the world goodbye and your entire endgame experience will reside in cross server queuing for dungeons. Because of the over-reliance on the story and the complete lack of need for the open world (such as social activities, actual crafting + gathering, fishing, open world events, mentoring systems, faction pvp like Aion or Bless, etc.) the game is incredibly linear and it's next to impossible to feel immersed in the world. It doesn't feel alive. On top of that, this also hinders memory-making and social interaction because you simply pass through the story and then keep queuing with random people in cross server. I'm used to seeing players running all over the place and hanging out in major cities. But in Blade & Soul, players are either in cross server or standing around a vault keeper AFK. You really can't even level with other people because of all the instanced zones and cutscenes for the story. Since launch, I have only made 2 good friends ingame. Both of them I met at Misty woods, which utilizes the open world. This makes me really sad. Because the world doesn't feel alive, neither do my characters. Instead, they feel like they're just tied to being different versions of the Hongmoon hero. They grind to upgrade gear until the next story update where they resume their role as the Hongmoon hero. Nothing more. - Conclusion When the game feels too linear, the world doesn't feel alive or immersive, my characters don't feel alive and are given no freedom, the classes no longer feel unique in PvE and socializing rarely happens.....it makes me wonder what the point is of playing anymore. It makes me so sad to realize all these things - especially when I realize that Blade & Soul shares almost nothing in common with all the games that kept me playing for many many years and that I've made many friends and memories with. The worst part of this is when I had to ask myself when the last time I truly had fun playing was....and most of the moments I thought of were within the first 6-8 months after release. Aside from story updates, I'm going to have to move on. Around 7 years of waiting and only 1.5 years of playing.... *massive sigh* Well, that's what I had to get off my chest. Does anyone else see things the same way?
  3. Iron Fan Master

Hi all. At this point, I have very little faith that Blade & Soul will be focusing on adding new classes after the gunner release. However, I would like to bring to everyone's attention a class that is very similar to what we have created here: Moonlight Blade's Tangmen/Puppet-master class. It is a fan-wielding class with Kung Fu style combat that uses wind-based skills, projectiles, spinning, dodging, teleporting, and other agile movements. It also controls a puppet to directly assist in combat, which adds a cool flavor to it (kinda giving me InuYasha demon villain vibes lol). It is both elegant and deadly (very similar to our fan-wielding heartthrob from Legend of the Condor Heroes =D ). Moonlight Blade is set to come to the west in the not so distant future, though we are still waiting for more details. Regardless, I thought you all would be happy to know our class actually exists!...just not where we had originally hoped. I think it's better suited for Moonlight Blade anyway. Here is a new video of the class released by Steparu. Enjoy! (I'm still in the clouds over those outfits and long hair O_O <3)
  4. Mod request (new outfit for Jin Male)

    Hehe thank you~!! =D <3
  5. Mod request (new outfit for Jin Male)

He's such a prince *_* Healu, I love you <3333 You are the best. Thank you!! ^_^
  6. Mod request (new outfit for Jin Male)

IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL <3333333 Amazing job!!! So now we know it can only be modded on adornments that change the hairstyle! =D Only problem is.........apparently I don't actually have the Summer Stud Cap....I'm an idiot. I really thought I did, but I'm half asleep and clearly don't have a functioning brain. I'M SO SORRY *Bows to the floor at your feet* could you apply it to this adornment instead? X_X Please forgive me!!! ='( (Edit: Wrong picture. Picture should show Crest of the Rising Sun)
  7. Mod request (new outfit for Jin Male)

*sobs* aww ok x.x haha Nice job on the texture fix! ^^ Do you think it'll work on something like this since it changes the entire hairstyle? Also this is what the outfit ends up looking like: Everything is fine except for that back part, which is odd >.> Is this also a texture problem or shader?
  8. Mod request (new outfit for Jin Male)

Ooh I see. Then I guess it has to be modded over a head adornment that changes the hairstyle?
  9. Mod request (new outfit for Jin Male)

Thank you so much! <3 As expected, there are shading issues. Parts of the costume are green and pink. I guess I'll have to wait for the client to update the shader =/ The hair ended up on the Thunder horns instead of the Wind horns =P Aside from that, I wonder if there's a file missing. Maybe? It actually fused together with the base hair instead of replacing it O_o
  10. Hello again! ^^ I'm looking to mod from this combo: (Prime Time outfit and Wind Horns) to this outfit + head adornment: I would like the head adornment for this outfit modded over the wind horns. We're still waiting on the upk file for it though. If there is a shading issue (because it's a new outfit), I will wait until we get an update for our client. Thank you! =)
  11. New kr costumes upk

Do you have the new JinM hairstyle for the first outfit? Edit: Also is the shader only a problem for the phoenix outfit or all new outfits mentioned in OP?
  12. Gon male mod request

It works! There is a weird issue with the arms (slit marks near the shoulders), but it's not a big deal. I can live with that for now. Thank you again! ^^
  13. Gon male mod request

Thank you so sooo much!! ^_^ <3 I understand what to do. I will post a screenshot once I try it out~
  14. Gon male mod request

UGHH Idk why images keep disappearing on this forum x.x I'll have to upload them somewhere else and try again... Edit: Ok they're fixed. Hopefully they stay that way lol
  15. Gon male mod request

Hello ^^ I'm losing my patience with the person in charge of the HM store x.x So until the costume is released, I'll have to try using a mod. I would seriously appreciate if someone can create this mod: Base outfit: Modded outfit: to this one: Thank you! Edit: Also here's the sexy beast that will be wearing this outfit <3 haha
