The time left to play Blade & Soul during the closed testing period is rapidly closing. This is the last test weekend before the full game release on January 19, 2016 at 12:01am EST/9am CET. This final beta weekend runs from December 18 at 10am PST/7pm CET until December 21 at 10pm PST/December 22, 7am CET. This is your final opportunity to play, provide feedback, and help us ensure a successful launch of Blade & Soul next month.
We’re less than five weeks away from launch, and January 19 also marks the end of your ability to get a Founder’s Pack. Having a Founder’s Pack of course guarantees access to this weekend’s test, but most tiers also offer additional benefits and exclusive rewards—with sizeable amounts of NCoin included—as well as Head Start access to the game before launch on January 15 at 10am PST/7pm CET, and Name Reservation on January 11, 2016 at 6pm PST For NA servers, and 7pm CET for our EU servers.
With Head Start beginning a full three days before launch for Founder’s Pack owners, we have a big weekend planned for our Head Start players, and a big launch event the week after to help kick Blade & Soul off right for everyone. We’ll have more information on the January 19 launch—including how you can get involved—in the near future, so stay tuned.
If you’re looking for a key for this weekend you can grab a copy of the January issue of PC Gamer US and find a free beta key inside. We’re also giving a ton of keys to individual EU press outlets, as well as a bunch to CyberPowerPC—and you can grab one from them by clicking here. We’re giving away tens of thousands of beta keys to make this the biggest closed beta weekend!
Launch is of course going to be an exciting time to start new characters, but we really want to remember everyone’s achievements throughout the closed beta by building a virtual photo album. Take a screenshot of your character waving goodbye to the beta, and post it in this official forums thread. In addition to that you can also tweet them to us @BladeandSoul and we’ll retweet a few throughout this last beta weekend.
With Launch quickly approaching I can imagine most have the class there going to main pretty much figured out. Though with all the other classes you tried did you find another one that you would also like to level on release AKA your alt.

The edge of a blade, howl of the wind, and flash of a lightning strike.
Welcome to our ongoing series leading up to launch, where we focus every other week on a class you can play in Blade & Soul. Today the Blade Dancer has pirouetted into the spotlight.
Check out our updated Blade Dancer class page, where we have our class video, beautiful wallpapers, and a page from the Hongmoon Secret Tome, showing you the techniques required to become a Blade Dancer. Join us on our official livestream December 17 at 4pm PST to see the Blade Dancer on stage; and check out SattelizerGames December 16 at 9am PST as he jumps onto Closed Beta 4 to showcase his own Blade Dancer performance.
The Blade Dancer is a true hybrid, taking the Blade Master’s damage and stances, and combining it with the Force Master’s elemental focus and stacking buffs. It’s a class exclusive to the Lyn race, and therefore takes advantage of their small stature to eke out powerful damaging abilities, and emphasizing maneuverability to avoid damage—since the class lacks the solid defensiveness of the Blade Master, or the crowd control of the Force Master.
Wind and Lightning are the two primary elemental damage types for the Blade Dancer, and each element associates with a particular stance. Draw Stance uses Lightning-related abilities, but relies upon a short-lived buff called “Electric Surge” that generates Electric Focus, which increases critical rating and allows use of specific skills. Basic Stance has skills that build Wind Focus, which, when consumed, add extra damage to certain skills, and boost the attack speed of others.
Like the Force Master, a Blade Dancer also has access to Phantom Grip, but they also have many more options available to make their helpless victim rue their existence, as many of these skills can be cast once, but apply their damage multiple times in sequence.
The Blade Dancer in Play
The Blade Dancer focuses on dealing two types of damage: Lightning and Wind. Not all skills will have an associated elemental damage, but those that do will have their damage increased with the selection of the right items. This is vital for the Blade Dancer, because unlike the versatility of their Force Master sibling, a Blade Dancer has to choose to focus on either Lightning or Wind abilities as part of their build.
For party play, the Blade Dancer is a solid high damage-dealer, and very proficient at taking down single enemies quickly. Their maneuverability and speed is also beneficial when it comes to fast reaction times, making them especially valuable for time-sensitive challenges.
In Arena PvP, the high damage that the Blade Dancer can dish out is tempered by their low health—if you can reach them. However, their maneuverability comes at a price, and that is Focus management. Their core defensive skill costs Focus with each use, as do many of their attack abilities. Choosing to spend Focus on damage versus defense is a dilemma every Blade Dancer faces, but those who can master this balance can dominate in the Arena.

Getting into Closed Beta
Everyone who successfully purchases a Founder’s Pack will be allowed into the Closed Beta. You will not receive a separate closed beta code but you must apply your Founder's Pack code to your NC account to be able to access the game. To do so, please follow these instructions.
If you have not purchased a Founder’s Pack but have received an invitational Closed Beta code, you must apply it to be able to log in. These invitational Closed Beta codes are only valid for specific periods of time and may not encompass the entire Closed Beta schedule. Invitational Closed Beta codes only grant you access to the game, it doesn’t come with any additional benefits.
Founder’s Pack purchasers will receive an email with the client location. In case you miss the email, you can also find it by clicking here. Keep in mind, only eligible players will be able to log into the game, see above for more info.
Learn more about these repeatable tasks and their valuable rewards.
Quests to save the world are rarely ever complete. Throughout your travels you’ll experience a sweeping story of good and evil, and continually make progress toward your goals, but there are some tasks that can never truly be completed. These quests revolve around recurring regional problems, and offer you the ability to continually offer assistance each day for additional rewards.
It’s possible to complete 40 daily quests a day, and these can be identified by an infinity symbol overlaying a blue quest marker. This indicates that this quest is available again for you each day, and can optionally be completed again. You will also want to visit the centrally located Noticeboards—which offer the area’s daily quests directly—if you’re looking to efficiently take on a number of quests at the same time.
While most daily quests only require you to offer your assistance and complete a task, some are offered by specific faction members, and you’ll need to be wearing that faction’s clothing to be able to accept them.
While the enemies you defeat during daily quests will sometimes have their own unique treasures, turning in a daily quest can offer a variety of rewards from the quest giver; including gold, XP, consumables, and Valor Stones. Continually completing daily quests can not only be a good source of income, but can also help increase your character’s power through upgrades and consumables.
Powerful martial artists know that a job is never done until it’s done.
It's impossible for it to be killing the launcher until it spawns a subprocess; the most likely explanation is it either fails to launch it, or crashes the launcher on injection. I'll add some better logging for the next version, in the meantime 1.0.1 should work.
Did you move the launcher over from its initial install? If so you'll have to specify the path to ncLauncherR.exe yourself, see this ticket for more info on how/why.
