Possible Demo at G-Star 2010!

39 posts in this topic

NCsoft released their 2nd quarter earnings report today (August 13th)! With it came an announcement concerning their upcoming titles, Blade & Soul, Guild Wars 2, and what they have planned for them. They told us we will be seeing these games in the following order; first the playable demo, then the CBT, OBT, and finally the opening release. They then stated that we will be seeing a playable demo of Guild Wars 2 at the Gamescom convention in Germany next week.

“Both games are being developed very well. We have satisfied our fans by releasing trailers so far, and as a next step we are going to release playable demos,” said JaeHo Lee, a vice president of NCsoft. “We are willing to take a chance this year and let the fans play the playable demo of Blade & Soul.”

Someone asked if we will be seeing a playable demo of Blade & Soul at G-star 2010, JaeHo Lee replied with “We will be releasing the Guild Wars 2 playable demo at Gamescom because it will be released in North America and Europe prior to Asia. We had released a trailer of Blade & Soul last G-Star, we feel that we need to prepare something else this time around”

Keep in mind, NCsoft did not confirm whether or not a playable demo of Blade & Soul will actually be at G-Star 2010, it's highly likely though! They did state that they wanted a demo out by the end of the year and there aren't any other major conventions left for them to release the demo! The only other major convention this year would be the Tokyo Game Show, but no Korean gaming company will be attending that convention.

If only it were a downloadable playable demo. :(

But on the bright side we'll be able to perhaps finally receive some information on how the game will play.

This is quiet nice. I'd want to play GW2 too in the US in the next three weeks but Alas I reside in lil Jamaica. :(

I was wondering when they would finally get around to a playable demo. Let us just hope that one will indeed be available at G-Star 2010.

I'm sure that most, if not all of us, are very excited about seeing videos of the game being played live so we can get an idea of the mechanics and interface in more detail than our previous speculation threads. :D

Awesome news! :adore:

I'd like to write an article about this - with credit to Blade & Soul Dojo and the translator, of course.

Who did the translation?

Cool, they better have something exciting otherwise it'll just feel like this game will never come out. And they also need to hype their Korean fanbase, so eventually they'll have to show something more than just a trailer.

Can't wait to see what they show, better see all the classes revealed! And more Gon goodness

Too bad, I was hoping to see some new BnS footage at the GamesCom <_<

Anyone who's visiting the G-Star this year?

Anyway… this game is so epic, can't wait anymore

If I wasn't already going to France for Christmas I would totally have gone. And I'd have invited my crush to come with me. :embarrassed:

By the way, I wrote the article. I gave you guys credit for the translation anyway.

Don't know when it'll be up, though.

I was hoping to see it at TGS this year as i was going to attend but going over the exhibitors list i didnt see ncsoft there q.q. Tho Sony was present as always, maybe a glimmer of hope. Since TGS is the asian equivalent of the E3 it would only make sense that the bigges names would be present if they had to show something.

Woot, a playable Demo! Hope that someone from here can go and take some pics of it. It would be awesome, see how the UI is and all. Since I'm quite far... very actually, from the place I just hope at least someone can go for the sake of the Dojo!

Hoping that this playable demo does end up materialising and isn't another slither of hope which vanishes, like BnS at Comic-con. But keeping my hopes up none the less ! I'd like to see a substantial amount of information about the game coming from the demo though, not some short, scripted bit of gameplay which doesn't tell us much, I think most of the Dojolings can't exist on scraps alone for much longer D=!

I just hope the demo they might show at the event turns out more than I expect.

I really want this game to be perfect, I just love the lore and races too much to see this turn out to be garbage.

*crosses fingers* Team Bloodlust, work your magic you crazy designers you!

Satisfied with trailers? The last bit of info was released a year ago.

You guys ... get out of my head! SO yeah ... totally wish it was a downloadable demo ... but here's hoping that there will be some pictures, news ... SOMETHING released on BnS in relation to this so that we can all partake of the goodness. And yeah ... they haven't released much of ANYTHING on BnS lately. That's why one of the forums I was a member of went belly-up (no news = no one posting). I'm glad that the Dojo is still around.

To sum up, till the G-Star we won't have any big news from NCsoft comsidering B&S.In the event , we will definitely see a playable demo and an announcement for the CBT.In December ,the beta will be open for korean players and hopefully in march-april we may have an international release...

That's excellent! Once we see some demo footage and obtain info about player's experiences with said demo, we will be able to better understand the gameplay of B&S and how different classes will work.

Can't wait! =^.^=

I just can't wait to see the new classes (Summoner!). I also cannot wait to see what kinds of weapons each class will have available

They better let us see what each class can use, daggers, hammers, chains?, katanas, brass knuckles, etc.

When they do that, instead of arguing the point, point and laugh at them, wipe a tear from your eye pat them on the shoulder and say something, "That's just fine kid, that's just fine." Then walk away. Worked on my friends anyway they decided to shut up about it after a while. Lol.
