If there are changes you wish to see, use the Site Feedback & Support board. Topics and posts may be edited or altered by Dojo staff members due to bad formatting. This can include things such as posts typed in capslock or posts that have content that needs to be hidden with spoiler tags. Erotic roleplay (“ERP”) will not be tolerated and will result in a hidden post or deleted thread. Mods & Tools You will not post mods or tools that could be used to give you an advantage over other players (i.e. speedhacks). You will not post extremely explicit mods, such as nudity mods. You will not steal work created by another user. All work must be original unless you are given permission by the original creator of the work to post it on the Dojo. You will not submit mods that infringe on the copyrights of companies (i.e. Sanrio outfits, etc.). You will not submit mods that require users to bypass GameGuard, nor will you that teach users how to bypass GameGuard. Off-Topic Discussion Forum rules #3, #4, #8 and #9 will be loosely enforced on the Off-Topic Discussion board. You will not need to use spoiler tags for off-topic posts, including borderline content, memes, macros, etc. Reputation System You will not use the reputation system in a way that shows bias towards specific members. Repeat Offenders We will no longer be using the warning point system. Instead, temporary bans will be issued to repeat offenders. The decision to ban and the length of the ban will be at the moderators’ discretion. Ban Appeals If you feel you were wrongly banned or that you have changed your ways, you can email me through the Dojo’s contact system (found on my profile underneath “Contact Information”). I recently started watching Sword Art Online. I'm not completely finished with it, but so far it's pretty good. If it ends up being lame, it will at least have had several really awesome action scenes.

Ghastly you should totally watch gun x sword it's not as bad as most mecha but it does have some in it but it's not based JUST around that and the story is great on that.

As for the others here are some that i love

Magical Lyrical Nanoha, Magical Lyrical Nanoha A's, and Magical Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS

Kaleido Star, Trinity Blood, Claymore, Black Lagoon, D. Greyman, Hitman Reborn, Spice and Wolf, Hajime no ippo and New Challenger, One piece big_smile.png, Air Master, Fist of the North Star, Soul Eater was pretty interesting, Ergo Proxy was good, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex was good as well, Fairy Tail is good, as was already said Sword Art Online

I'm tired as it is right now so hopefully this list will aid you joss_stick.png

Lithia

I'm watching sword art online as well, and while the concept is nice,

I myself think it took a deep turn toward the 'meh' , later on in the series.

But you may find it enjoyable.

I'll just recommend you a series that is finished, as that's more fun to marathon through,

I won't spam you with 100 series at once, as that'll get you nowhere, so:

- Recent anime that scored very high with me 'Fate/Zero'

- If you haven't seen it yet Fullmetal alchemist: Brotherhood

I'll just start with that and work down a list if you have in fact seen these two.

- Lith. ...Recommendation.

Sword Art Online is good. In turns out to be more about romance than action later in the series but it's still good.

Awake.

If you dislike anime's that are typically geared towards younger audiences like I do, you know, the ones that typically are like high school dramas laden with fan service, harems, and retarded characters, or the ones that have never ending plots and pointless filler...

Than I would highly recommend some of my favorites, like Spice and Wolf, Planetes, or Black Lagoon.

Tis a shame you don't like mechas :( I know there are some really bad mecha shows out there, but there are also some really good ones and some classics that are really perfect.

Thanks for the recommendations everybody, some good stuff here. I think I'll pin this thread and make it a recommendation thread for anyone.

My last request is for newer animes (2011-2012).

I'm actually not new to anime, been watching most of it since 1997

Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes. I thought the concept was nice, but everything else was meh. The art looks good though. Nowadays, people just watch it because "OMGOMGOMG, GAMERS CAN SAVE THE WORLD BY BEING GAMERS kind thing, along with Asuna and her cladiness of clad.

Anime recommendations:

Tower of Druaga (Comedy/Action/Adventure/Romance)

Toradora (Romantic Comedy)

Tengen Toppan Gurren Lagann (Mecha. BUT IT'S REALLY GOOD MECHA)

Mirai Nikki (Psychotic horror mystery Romance)

Those being the ones I can think of at the top of my head.

I know I'm necroing. A tleast I think I am...but I've recently watched this anime that I love very much and feel the need to share with everyone:

Mushi-shi.

o o There are very few times I could say that a character has become my favorite badass---without a single solitary moment of combat. Ginko is that man.

Hello there, I have followed this forum since a while but I only recently put some effort to make an account here (yes I am lazy). I made an animelist with reccommendations together with a friend of mine (cuz I was too lazy to do it alone). In here you will find animes of all genres. The ones with lots of action and adventure are probably my reccomendations which is about 80% of this list. Feel free to ask me anything about those animes though I may not remember some of them since I watch animes for 7 years now.

Here is the link to my list it's in a noteblock to make it easy to send: Anime
