Blade & Soul Collectors Edition

51 posts in this topic

Or instead a chain with the race symbol of choice as a charm. ^^ In every forum of the games I play we all come up with amazing ideas of a physical CE and what gives you inside. Doesn't matter but the company comes up with great ideas we didnt think of. I'll be surprised.

way to ignore me, buttface.

I would definitely buy a CE (physical) and probably even a digital if that's all that was available.

Digital:

CE *exclusive* items that will not be obtainable any other way

  • title
  • outfit
  • headgear

An emote (such as a dance) would be neat.

Early Access for character creation

And.. if it was only a digital version that came out.. if we wouldn't be able to get an art book (whole digital thing) a pack of special high-res wallpapers with a digital signature of the artist would be pretty cool! or a PDF game guide with lore & info about the development of the game.

Physical Copy

-A keychain/phone strap selectable of what race/class combination you plan to make

-Exclusive outfit

-Selectable figurine of one of each of the races or one of the main npc characters in the storyline

-Art book, hardcover, with sketches of locations/character art/ect

-Behind the scenes thing because some of us like seeing such things

-a piece of jewelry or something that you could actually use to show your B&S adoration that ISNT a t-shirt. (TERA could have made a copy of their pre-order in game jewelry and made it a silver pendant on black cording rather than that stupid compass)

-A special invite to hand out to a friend that gives them some sort of in game reward and trial (a bag of supplies, a title, limited time clothing or something) so that you can invite someone who may be on the fence about playing and let them have some fun too!)

Stuff like that :x

Some nice ideas from everyone. But now I think, I also would like to have something related to BNS that I can use more often besides just placing it in my room.

Something like perhaps a BNS themed USB-stick with some exclusive wallpapers, digital version of the soundtracks, in it.

or maybe as mentioned before a keychain is also a nice idea.

But Personally the artbook, a figure, cloth map and metal case are the must haves for this game imho.

PLEASE NCSOFT, MAKE A PHYSICAL CE!

I mean take an example of Borderlands 2 the ultimate loot chest. That thing was SICK.

- real figure of in game bobblehead.

- real chest of the in game loot chest

- cloth map

- artbook

That's one of the best CE's I've seen.

The crysis nanosuite themed backpack that was given with the crysis 2 special edition was also a great idea. Of course that doesn't fit to BNS, but I'm sure they can come up with a nice Idea.

Actually an exclusive controller would have been nice too, but it's not a console game, so that's also a bad idea.

I could definitely go all out and put more cool ideas out (some were mentioned after my post). But I was going off of an estimate on what I think their budget would be like.

I know right?! i was really tempted to buy it, but the only thing i actually wanted was the loot chest...the art style is not one of my favorite, even if the game is so cool and funny.....

A lot of good ideas here, especially the 3d customized character :dreaming:

I've never personally purchased a Collector's Edition of any game because the goods they include are typically useless.

The Bad:

Artbook of art I can view online, and soundtrack I can listen to online/in-game. It's always nice to own, sure, but it's not like they serve much purpose. Absolute zero interest.

A figure would do the trick as something worth owning, but it's always seemed strange to release a figure for an MMO CE where you're meant to design your own character. Especially an MMO with varying races, where the figure isn't necessarily the one you're playing: see Guild Wars 2 CE. Pass.

The Good:

Anything Practical. A physical map could be useful, especially if it's made of cloth. A USB is technically useful, but I imagine we all have enough as-is.

Hit or Miss:

In-Game Items. They're hit or miss because they're the absolute best reward to include, the prize I'd be most interested in, but I'm also iffy on being forced to buy physical goods to get some items attached. Need to be good enough to incentive getting it, but not so good you feel forced.

Personally the best example of a recent Collector's Edition (/imo) would be, ironically, Final Fantasy XIV. It included a physical copy of the game, month subscription, a Journal half-filled with concept art, a security USB, a map made of cloth, and a Tumbler.. It includes the art book everybody loves, but everything else in it is themed, but practical and useful. Opposed to an expensive figure you may or may not like. Absolutely one I'd have loved..if I had any interest in that game. It's probably cheap to produce as well. Lastly, they get an exclusive in-game helmet for the item collectors (such as myself). Perfect.

Hehehe, that'd be cute! Or.. Hmm.. maybe something like a fireworks emote (celebrating the opening of the game).

Yeah. Now a days kpop dances are way too confusing and complicated. We need more simple dances we can actually do ourselves like the popular Gangnam Style ^-^

Art book is a must, love Hyung Tae Kim's work. A figure would be cool too, but I don;t want a little raccoon eared cutie though (I am sure alot of folks will though). Hard to tell what they'd use as a model for that.

Steelbook casing is a must.

Collectors edition exclusive /gangnam dance emote ^__^

A Blade and Soul mug/tumbler to pour a mixed drink or some brew into whilst whittling away the day on the game (make it look AWESOME)

An exclusive weapon skin specific to your chosen class that you can re-use throughout the game. Not just a weapon you can use for the first 3 levels, something that will LAST.

I think being able to get a figure of your own customized character would b pretty cool.

They have a service (figureprints) for WoW players, where they use a "3D printer" and get your info from your character online. You choose a pose and the gear you want represented, and they make you a figure. It's pretty cool, even if it's WoW lawl.

If there's a Collector's Edition please don't give us stuff like figures or artbooks. Give us in game stuff like costumes, weapon skins, or exclusive hair styles.

I like to have stuff I can actually show off :dreaming: It's not like I'm going to walk around in public waving around my collectors edition items, especially since most people won't recognize it and will most probably think I'm just some weird otaku :sweats: It's nice to have something that makes you stand out as being unique and not just some weirdo :cold: I vote for in-game exclusives!

I'd prefer to have PERMANENT in-game items - anything that uniquely distinguishes the C.E. holders.

As long as it's not a "Digital CE", BnS is cool enough that I'd actually want a hard copy of it's CE.

Although, in Korea the game has no "edition" whatsoever. It's a P2P model with no initial registration/game purchase fee, alongside a micro-transition store.

I like to have physical items so when Im done playing for good i can remember all the fun i had.

I also enjoy physical copies of games, not only for the benefit of having something unique to a game you loved, but due to the fact, i'd rather not have to download a game, when i could just go pick up a disc and have it install in less then 5 minutes.

I buy physical editions of any game i'm going to play that comes with one, and if they come with a special edition, or collectors edition, i buy that over a regular copy.

Another plus side to having a Physical disc, is the ability to quick-share the game, for example, say you have friends (for most of you, it seems like quite the long shot) and they see the game, and want to try it, well, instead of saying "go spend 3-9 hours downloading it!" you can simply hand them the disc, have them install it quickly and start playing. Of course this doesn't work for B2P games, only P2P.

A great many of people have said they want a Figure in the collectors edition, i don't think that is a good idea, i'd love the idea of being able to buy figures later on, but one specific figure picked out for a special edition could ruin sales of it, because not everyone wants the exact same figure.

Art book, T-shirt, Beanie(Tuque), a Scarf, Arm warmers(Sleeve warmers), a physical manual(Not guide book), Playing cards, a locket with your characters picture, a mouse pad, a poster, an Ingame title (My suggestion for this would be "Physical Love") a certificate of authenticity with signatures of the Dev team, an OST CD, Character name reservation(only one), 30 free days(Typical with any Collectors Edition of P2P)

These are just a few things that can come with a Collectors edition that most people won't complain about.

For those people who are.....Larger, the T-Shirt, and arm warmers(Sleeves) of course won't fit you, my suggestion? PUT DOWN THE FORK AND GO FOR A JOG!

As said by others, Mounts are not in the game, so forget the pipe dream of getting one for the CE/SE, won't happen.

And i suggest that NCSoft does NOT give different regions different stuff! DO NOT stiff one region and favor another, this type of thing does hurt the game.

Been following game forever, only made forum account to post my opinion on this matter only.

On a side note, i really hope that EU and NA are not one server, i hope they have their respective servers and region block each other.

Don't often like seeing 12 different languages being spammed through area chat, world chat, and whispers, especially when people use it for racist comments and other such things (like rmt's and promoting bots)
