Yeah. Honestly, it sounds like they did the best they could. Some of it sounds a little awkward here and there, but that's because of how fast the korean version was talking, so they had to squash the sentences in as best they could.

Dubbing isn't easy, guys, calm down.

I really don't know where this dub hating came from really, I think it's fine for the most part. Sure it's nice to have the game stick to it's Korean roots and there are a few moments where the mouths don't match the voice (I didn't count too many moments watching that dub if any) but sometimes I want to just watch the scene and not have to worry about reading the subs dammit . :gloomy:

I wouldn't call it dub hating at all, just a matter of 'seeing something in it's original light'

You have to think of it like this, most people have been following this game for how long~? 5 years or more~? And we've always seen it in the korean light, so when you hear something like a dub, for some that's just taking it out of the comfort zone of how you've always viewed the game, I don't really think it always stems from just hating dub~

Have to look at it like this, Mom's home-made biscuits are fine but Grandma's are just great~!

simply said people like to feel they're getting the 'original' is all~

change is hard, that's common knowledge x3

I... completely understand that, but that doesn't give the ones who have not played the Korean server a reason to whine imo. At least those that have actually played on the Korean server and stuck with it for a while have been put into a comfort zone in which they wouldn't want to leave.

Also, Ara is OP

Yeah you're right, they don't have a reason to whine^^; or complain at all~

>:I do not show disdain towards the Ara OPness~! Sure~! Her moves cost less MP yet remain as powerful, and SURE she needs no speed attachments to be insanely fast, and SURE she gets more total MP than most others and SURE she can cancel special actives to activate special actives that thus cost no MP but have the damage of something Chung would do~

See, she's not OP, I rest my case x3~

At least they're not pulling an SMT: IMAGINE and just not having voice acting at all. You get voiceless cutscenes with subtitles, there. Then again, some of you might prefer that, I guess.

I have been waiting for this game for years, hopefully I'll only have another year or less left to wait.

And I'm sure some kind folks will release mods that allow us to use the original Korean voices, or maybe it'll be something as simple as a toggle option, that'd be great!

why whine about the Dub when we can't even touch the beta LOL..we should whine more about the release.

I totally agree with your point. Whine about the release instead of DUB when I atleast play the game the voices are my least conceern the gameplay is what you are going to be doing for hours not litsening to cutscenes.

Hopefully we won't have to wait more than Q4 this year which imo is too long. The Voice option would be great, choose korean language and english sub. :)

DUB is a bit of a problem when you have a lot of NPCs that talk all the time, and yes voice option would be nice :adore:

If the sound files are stored like every other game I've played, then replacing them with Korean files shouldn't be a problem at all, and wouldn't be detected by hackshields or anything because it's not an inject or something like that. If the sound files are heavily encrypted or something that'd be an issue, though.

Rewatching that, I wonder why they stated more of the story than was originally let on at the time. From my understanding of the beginning parts of the game, you certainly don't know what her plan is until much later.

But in general, they definitely take their time. At least, I hope that they do. Even though that was a rough gameplay cut, it was very rough. Translations don't fit in their areas, and just look off.

Hidden Content
From having worked on a certain server that you're not supposed to talk about here... I was hoping that even in their presentation state, that it would have been more polished. The constraints that I had in translating things were just because I could edit text only. They have so much more ability, yet it kinda looks the same way in the end. Who knows, maybe Team Bloodlust didn't keep westernization in mind when designing some parts of the UI. Korean can say so much more in tiny spaces.

Ah, i think dub sounds fine to me, could be worse... lol. I just want to play.

I feel bad really because while I want to agree with you, most of the negative expectations are coming from those who have played this game in the past. Such as myself, while I want to say I won't mind dubbing, I know that really, I will mind it. Because just 'playing the game' was not the beauty I found in the game, but experiencing it as a whole. Sure i'll play dubbed, but I know it will not feel the same.

But positively I suppose we can never be sure. NCsoft are at heart a very decent company, and that trust keeps my hopes somewhat afloat.

Well it would be great if they could implement dubs yet still have the options of keeping the native language and just simply having subs. I dont get why that's so hard. THe subs are already there and it's not a whole ton of work to add an option to change the language spoken....
