The Chests/boxes containt 3, 5 or 8 Bo-Pae Pieces (depending on what you got on the wheel)

Or they contain a dobok or a accesory (Head peice or additional armor style piece) That can all be seen on the Wheel when you its stops spinning.

Awesome. Now I just need to work out how to open the boxes :D I get some message but can't open them :-(

Then you only have a trial account. In B&S you can play with an NCSoft account up to lvl 16 but you lack some features like opening those boxes. As soon as you buy a subscription you will be able to open them.

Im a little concerned about doing dungeons with others since I dont speak korean. Are the dungeons pretty much straightforward and easy to learn or are they difficult to figure out? The last thing I want is to be the stupid foreigner who messes up the dungeon for everyone because he cant understand his party members so any advice on how to minimize the damage I might do would be nice lol.

i played through the first truly difficult dungeon with the fat destroyer. always kill the wolf. it spawns more men to fight you. kill it = stopping the mad zerg spawning.... for a short while until the next wolf appears.

advice for dungeons in general: let the blade or KFM take the main boss, all others take the little clowns that follow the boss.

Wich is up to 16 >.< You reach 16 and then you have to pay, exactly what i said, but thanks for correcting something that didnt actually matter at all and was correct in the first place.

About the dungeons, until lvl 38 you should not have any issues with dungeons, thats where the first one starts to be a bit harder, its a catacomb like dungeon with a Fire Behemoth as the last boss.

The first dungeon, as DayBreeze said is the dungeon on the island in the south of the first continent.

For the first boss, Wolf and then the Destro add that spawns at the entrance, the Destro can drop a bomb wich deals insane amounts of damage. Other then that, don't stand infront of the boss and just DPS him.

Second Boss are the 2 Caster + BM boss. Make sure to fokus down the casters first and dont stand in front again. When the BM woman backs off and starts to scream prepare yourself to use some kind of avoidance skill as she will start to rush to everyone hitting you quite hard.

For the last boss, he will often times grapple a target and choke it for massive dmg, make sure to use a knockdown skill (your group will probably too) to stop him from doing that. He will also start to jump at times, just get away from him, using SS and dont let him make you flat :P Also, when he looks like hes charging something, back off with SS as he will do an AOE around him.

Thats about it for the first dungeon.

The Dungeon mentioned is the first one you really need to team up to as it is a real dungeon.

However, when you see 3 Marks at an entrance of a Cave it is meant for 2 or more people, but I never had a problem soloing any of those. You can also always see a Groupsize suggestion at the right sight of your quests. Anything below 4ppl can be soloed imo.

And even 4man quests can be done alone but sometimes need a bit more attention.

If you see a purple shining entrance with a flower like symbol in the middle it is a group dungeon and should be done with a group (You will also find a Red AND a Green Dragon Statue infront, because Dungeons can either be done 6 or 4man).

Now that i mention Dragon Statues, if there is none you can definitly solo the cave, but just because there is one, it doesnt mean you can not, hehe.

Thanks Again Aari, I actually found another post explaining too and to be fair I was surprised it even played when I just ran it again to test my account :D. I best get some cashmonies to NCSoft to get me going, missing out on all the sick Bo-pae and outfits.

A good example is the cave for the level 30ish main quest. It's next to the tower where you do a quick escort quest and kill the stone lion statue.

This dungeon is very tough to solo if you aggro more than 1 mob, depending on your ping. If you're having a bad day with ping you'll die if you aggro more than 1 mob, because it's mostly assassin mobs that have a lot of utility. From the poison spam to the teleporting and misc. attack skills, you will have a hard time with more than 1 of those for sure.

Wow, I come back a couple of months later and my post is still alive... :p

Guess I wasn't the only one who was thinking of this...

But with my experience with this game it's a boobs and butt game, that's all. Nice graphics and scenery. I'd like to see something more innovative than Quest,Quest,Quest, Quest, Dungeon. :gloomy:

1. If you're talking about the one where you have to kill the undead goblins(looks like overgrown babies jumping around) you pick em up and bring them to the fire. Normally, for quests like these, when you pick up the body it will tell you where you need to bring them with a double arrow or star on the minimap.

2. The "Pizza slice" is bopae, basically those are the same as "armor/equipment" in other games. Basically, you can wear 8 of these and it gives you stats. However, you cannot wear 2 of them that will fit into the same slot. You can press the key B to look at your bopae. Bopae come in sets, and if you obtain multiple bopae of the same set they will give you added effects/stat bonuses.

3. At first you will feel lost, but as you go on, the game will become easier to understand as many quests are pretty similar to what you do at early levels. If you need help try finding English players that play on your server! That's the easiest way to quickly learn the fundamentals of the game.

Not sure if this thread is still actively being answered by OP, but as a newb I have some questions and if anyone could answer them that would be delightful. :)

1) How does the cash shop work? Are the costumes purchasable with in-game points?

2) Are there any English guides for the Bo Pae sets? What is the max you can + a Bo Pae to? Is there any reason to bother with +ing at a lower level?

And that's it for now. :3

1. Not sure if you can purchase things from the cash shop with a non-korean credit card, but people do put up costumes that are sold from the cash shop, they're a bit expensive though!

2. Here's a guide to bopae and more here: http://steparu.com/reviews/mmo-rpg-reviews/892-blade-a-soul-online-review?start=1

All credits to Steparu for making this great guide! Used it alot.

The max + you can + a bopae to depends on what level the enchanted bopae is and its rank (purple>blue>green>white). Another thing you should make sure of is that the bopae that you are using to enchant also matters, as some bopae will give higher + than others. I'm pretty sure that crafted bopae will give the highest + compared to others of the same rank/level but I'm not entirely sure.

Oh, forgot to mention that the different numbers on the bopae matter as well. The higher the number bopae piece, the higher max + it can have.

There really isn't much point to enchanting until maybe 36 or 42, depending if you get the full ToS Bopae or not. If you are having trouble leveling I recommend enchanting with crit and getting a life leech gem.

Thank you so much. :D

I have a couple more to add, this time about crafting.

1) Should I hold onto / horde any type of gathered material I find while leveling? Or sell, sell, sell?

2) Should I ignore crafting until I'm at a certain level or should I start thinking about / figuring it out right away?

1. Is it possible to create a character that looks just like my avatar (Felicia from Magna Carta, another game with Hyung Tae Kim's art)?

2. I see your character name is Kurome, are you a fan of Akame ga Kiru?

EDIT: Corrected the name in question 1. My original mistake remains in the quoted response below. :p

1. Just sell it for now. You really need not worry about crafting early on.

2. Yeah, I would wait until you've reached level cap to start crafting, since you will have a steady income of gold to level it up from start to finish while figuring out what is most profitable on the AH and whatnot.

Is there a healthy balance between classes being played or is one class obviously favourited over others?

I haven't been really paying attention to this, but it does seem balanced in Korea. Although most foreign players I've encountered usually prefer melee classes. Rarely have I seen them play summoner, or FM from start to finish.

1. Is it possible to create a character that looks just like my avatar (Fiona from Magna Carta, another game with Hyung Tae Kim's art)?

2. I see your character name is Kurome, are you a fan of Akame ga Kiru?

1. Maybe? You won't know until you try out the customization yourself, but I would like to assume it might be possible to replicate that character you're talking about.

2. Yes, yes I am.

What class do you think is the most desirable in a party?

Probably KFM, BM, LBM, Destroyer and FM.

Funny to see FM at the bottom, most gamers in the US I see prefer casters since there's not much skill needed

Perhaps melee in this game ends up actually being more badass than casters, enough to make up for having to facetank/evadetank everything?

Just thought of something else.

Perhaps you could spoil me on lore a little bit:

Would you say that Jin Seo Yeon is a straight up Complete Monster? People before wondered if she might be more tragic than that, but from what I see of the actual translation of the cutscenes, and what the localization people said in that one video, she simply sold her soul for power.

Also, what's the deal with Pohwaran? For such a seemingly popular character, I can't find much on her at a glance. Does her story end at her defeat? Is she at least less of a monster than Jin Seo Yeon?

Press the "O" key, 4th tab, second category. You should be able to re-bind most (if not all) the keys displayed on the action bar to whatever you desire to set it as.

8hyg3.jpg

1. Can I bind any ability that I want to to LMB and RMB? I can't seem to figure out how to do this (even if it's possible).

2. Also does this game support Ctrl/Shift/Alt modifiers like 'Shift + 1' or 'Shift + LMB' for example? I'm playing a FungFu Master and I would like the Jeet Kune (counter ability) to be bound on the RMB.

The last post is nearly one year old, you prolly wun get lots of response here. :P

1. Nope (only alternative keys like the R key on the keyboard)

2. Would not recommend it, the input of the mouse is slower than the one of the keyboard, you will only make the response/input time even worse but you can bind an alternative key (the brackets behind 1, 2, 3 and so on..)
