That really is an amazing quote and I have to say, I agree. Whether we like it or not we're all actors.

In some way or another we're trying to show who we are in our way. Some act serious, others act happy, others greedy, etc.

The difference is between those who know they are acting and those who do not. Does who don't know are the ones who don't understand the world and everything around them.

Nicely rephrased, I must say.

As our idea of reality is made up, created by our senses, we constantly generate our own image, and that of other people based on what we think is "real". Yet, what colour has a ripe tomato when nobody looks at it? None of course. Colours don't exist. Sound doesn't exist. All our senses deliver beautiful impressions of what reality feeds them with. The same goes for what we think we or other people actually are. Personality is no fixed condition, rather a constant feedback loop. When looking at evolution, at what moment did the cell colony on it's way to become a higher organism realize that it is an individual beeing? Did that happen at all? Aren't we just very complex cell clusters that use personality as a concept for the ease of dealing with an imensly complex world?
